Anthony J. DiPillo, Jr.
August 8, 1928 - May 15, 2014
Son of Anthony DiPillo Sr. and Elvira Balassone-DiPillo, a 1945 graduate of OHS, who honorably served with the U.S. Navy. He married Irene Patalano and settled in Crotonville/Ossining. Anthony owned and operated DiPillo’s Liquor Store on Aqueduct St., in Ossining in the area known as “The Hollow”, where he and his family originally grew up. He later relocated his business to North Highland Avenue. Upon his retirement, he and Irene relocated to Ocala Fl.
Those who knew Anthony, may have called him by one of his many names: Anthony, Tony, Junior or Goo-Goo, but couldn’t call him anything but courageous. Although Anthony contacted diabetes at 21 yrs. old, he never complained and defied its difficulties and complications. He continued to play softball, golf, and enjoyed music and dancing. A spirited soul with incredible heart, blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and love for life, he was respected by all and will be sorely missed by his many family and friends. Predeceased by his wife Irene; survived by his son Gary of Ocala, his son and daughter-in-law David and Suzanne of Ossining, his 8 beloved grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and loving sisters Florence Di Domizio and Barbara Dooley.
