A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, May 8 at 11:30 AM at the chapel at Dorsey's Funeral Home at 14 Emwilton Avenue, Ossining, NY 10562 at 11:30 AM followed by burial at Gates of Heaven in Hawthorne.

Dr. Margaret (Peggy) Cioffi formerly of Manhattan and Somers, New York passed away Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 in Ossining, N.Y.
Margaret Mary Herlihy was born in Hoboken, New Jersey to Pearl Herlihy (Macdonald) and David Herlihy on January 23, 1933. She received a Catholic primary and secondary education and graduated from College Miseracordia. Dr. Cioffi received her medical training at the University of Zurich in Switzerland where she married Albert Cioffi. Upon completing her MD Dr. Cioffi and her husband made their home in Bologna, Italy while Albert completed his medical training at the University of Bologna. The Dr's Cioffi traveled widely in Europe before returning to the states and settling in New York City where they lived for many years before moving to the Westchester town of Somers.
Margaret practiced clinical psychiatry at Bellevue and St. Luke's/Roosevelt hospitals in Manhattan before opening a private practice with her husband in Yorktown Heights, New York.The last decade of her professional life was spent working with veterans at the VA hospital in Montrose, NY. She often said this was the most important and fulfilling work of her life. 
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, Albert, her sister, Kathleen Tovo and her loving son in law, Thomas DiDato. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Herlihy, Her brother, Joseph Herlihy, her four children, Vincent Cioffi, Mary Cioffi, Theresa DiDato, Margaret Cioffi. She is also survived by her seven grand children, Mitchel Mullen, Jeremiah and Michael Cioffi, Savannah and Gabriel Didato and Rose and Karina Cioffi.
