Funeral Mass will be Monday 11/11/19, 10 AM, St Ann’s Church.
Interment at St. Augustine’s cemetery.

Donald “Dinky” Apostolico
January 13, 1931 - November 5, 2019
Donald “Dinky” Apostolico, a lifelong resident of Ossining, passed away on Nov. 5, 2019 after a brief illness.
Dinky was born on Jan 13, 1931 in Utica to Domenic and Catheryn (Giblin) Apostolico.
Dinky graduated from Ossining High School in 1949 and then served in the US Navy through 1953 - during the Korean conflict. On June 13,1959 he married Donna Perry; they were married for 59 years.  They had three children: Meg Apostolico, of Ossining, Thomas Apostolico (Sherry), of Chesapeake, VA and Karen Ryan (Tim), of Ossining, NY; six grandchildren: Amberlee Apostolico, Alex Michael (Josh), Andrea Ackaway (Chris), Aleesa Buolftali (Adam) all of VA Beach/Chesapeake VA, and Danielle and Patrick Ryan of Ossining; five great grandchildren: Noah and Eli Conwell, Mila and Rutledge Michael of VA Beach and Baby Ackaway on the way in Chesapeake, VA.
Dinky was a stationary engineer for General Foods in Tarrytown for 36 years, worked Security at Scarborough Manor, and served 16 years as Chief Dispatcher for the Ossining Fire Dept as the infamous dispatcher 42.  He was the company mascot as a young boy and rose to the rank of Chief Engineer of the OFD.  Dinky was a 63-year life active member of Ossining Hose Company No 1. During that time held many positions within the company, was a fire commissioner and was elected Chief of the department in 1983. He served as Deputy Chief since 1985. He was a Member of the Westchester County Volunteer Fireman’s Association, FASNY, NY State Chiefs and was an associate member in Union Hose in Sleepy Hollow Fire Department.   He was a communicant of St Ann’s Church serving as an usher during mass.  Dinky spent countless hours coaching kids in the PAL leagues and helped found the Ossining Rec Youth Basketball league.
Dinky was predeceased by his parents, wife Donna, siblings Jack, Marge and Jeanne.
He is survived by his brother Richard of Ft. Lauderdale, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 
His greatest loves were his family, the OFD and the Red Sox.
