Victor D. Paolantonio
Passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019
Victor D. Paolantonio, devoted husband, father, grandfather and proud WWII veteran, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019, at age 96. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Emily Scarano Paolantonio, two daughters, Angela Lowy of Wilton, CT, and Lucille Murray and her husband, Joseph, of Norwalk, CT and two granddaughters, Tory Lowy and Sarah Lowy. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Donald Lowy.
Born and raised in North Tarrytown, NY, he was one of five brothers born to Vincenzo and Lucia Paolantonio. He is survived by two brothers, Frank and Angelo Paolantonio, and predeceased by Tony and James Paolantonio. Victor lived in Ossining, NY for 60 years, where he and his wife raised their family. They were parishioners of Saint Theresa’s church in Briarcliff, NY.
Victor was a devoted family man, and his family was his greatest joy. He was a cherished Poppy to Tory and Sarah as children, and later on, as their biggest cheerleader in school and activities alike. He took sincere interest in absolutely every aspect of his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. Victor’s love for his family, and his pride in their accomplishments, was obvious to anyone who knew him. It was his gentle nature and kind heart that drew people to him. He always greeted others with a warm smile, and was quick to laugh. He will be deeply missed not only by his family, but by the lifetime of people he touched with his generous spirit and joy for living.
Victor was employed by David Bogdanoff Builders for more than forty years as a construction foreman, overseeing the building of residential properties. One of his early projects was Torbank, a new suburban development in Ossining. He chose a lot adjacent to Torbank on which to build his own home, bordering a rolling brook.
