Claire D. Anderson passed away on November 1, 2015 at the age of 93.
Claire was born on December 10, 1921.
She was the Daughter of the late George F. Dean and Gertrude C. Gormley, and was a long-time resident of Ossining and a graduate of Ossining High School Class of 1939.
She is Survived by her daughter Margery (James) VanVliet III of Milton , NY;  her son Robert (Mary) Anderson of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren, Kristin (Daniel III) Jackson of Marlboro, NY; James (Tamara) VanVliet of Miramar, FL ; Jennifer (Joseph Jr.) Penkunas of Holly Springs, NC; and Karen Brown of Ruther Glen, VA. Also ten great- grandchildren, Daniel Jackson IV, Matthew Jackson, Emma Jackson, Chloe VanVliet , Ryan  Van Vliet , Emma Penkunas, Joseph (Tripp) Penkunas III, Benjamin Penkunas , Alyssa Morgan, and Daniel Brown.
She is predececeased by her husband, Joseph H. Anderson of Ossining; her brother, Robert Dean of Norfolk, VA; her three sisters, Gertrude Lamberti of Yonkers, NY; Margery Kipp of Ossining, NY; and Joyce Whitlow of Fernandina Beach, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
During World War II, she was employed at Cambridge Instrument Company in Ossining in support of the war effort. She later worked in the Ossining Public School system and at Falk’s clothing store on Main Street in Ossining. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Village of Ossining within the Police Department.
After the death of her husband in 2005, she moved from Ossining to Milton, NY. She had recently relocated to Wingate at Ulster in Highland, NY.
