A Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 13th at Scarborough Presbyterian Church at 655 Scarborough Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510 (corner of Scarborough Road and Route 9).
Private family interment will take place at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Arthritis Foundation.

Dr. G. Richard Parrino, died Wednesday, June 10th, 2015.


Richard Parrino was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Peter and Angelina Parrino. He was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Most Holy Trinity High School in Brooklyn. Richard earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton, Dayton OH, then completed his medical degree from the University of Rome School of Medicine in Rome, Italy. Following his medical training, he joined Queens Hospital Center, and was appointed Chief Medical Resident. After completing his Fellowship in Rheumatology with Dr. John Calabro, Dr. Parrino opened his medical practice at 200 South Broadway in Tarrytown NY. Richard would tell you his greatest achievement was marrying Sandra Swift in Guilford CT .

Richard lived a wonderful life and loved his family very deeply. After his wife Sandy, his passion was taking care of his patients. Dr. Parrino was the Director of the Phelps Infusion Center since 2004, treating countless patients with cutting edge medical treatments that transformed their lives by putting their disease into remission.

Dr. Parrino is known to his colleagues, residents, nurses, and patients as a brilliant, compassionate, and caring physician. He was affiliated with Phelps Memorial Hospital for over 40 years.


Survivors include his wife Sandy; three children, Paul Parrino of Ossining NY, Christopher (Joy) Parrino of San Diego, CA and Alexander Parrino (Dawn) of Riverdale NY; three grandchildren, Alexander Jr., Alissa, and Richard; one brother, Thomas (Marie) Parrino of Danbury CT; one brother-in-law, Dr. Jonathan Swift of Madison CT; one sister-in-law, Dr. Adrienne Smaller of Madison CT; five nieces and nephews, Sarah Smaller-Swift, Josh Smaller-Swift, Thomas Parrino Jr., Roberta Parrino, and Laura Parrino. He was preceded in death by his parents.
